GREGORY MCGINNIS better known as DJ gap grew up on the south side of Chicago, first on 50 W. 71st St. and later on 7445 S. Eggleston.

It was doing his teenage years, while attending local parties and being captivated by music that he discovered his passion for DJing.

Inspired by sounds that moved him, he sent out to learn the craft, eventually purchasing his first set of technique 1200 an amp, and  Cerwin-Vega speakers- which he still owns today.

The name DJ Gap came to him spontaneously while brushing his teeth in the mirror. since 1981, He’s been mixing and sharing his love of music with family and friends.
